Carolina Panthers center Austin Corbett has been named the recipient of the team’s 2024 Ed Block Courage Award.
The award, which is given annually to one player from each of the NFL’s 32 teams, honors those who “exemplify commitments to the principles of sportsmanship and courage.” Recipients also symbolize “professionalism, great strength and dedication” while serving as community role models.
Corbett is currently working back from his third major injury in as many years. He tore his ACL in the finale of the 2022 campaign, sustained a season-ending knee injury after four games in 2023 and missed the last 12 outings of this season due to a biceps tear.
In addition to exhibiting perseverance on the comeback trail, the seventh-year veteran has also been recognized for his off-field work within the military community. Corbett, who has dedicated himself to causes such as the Wounded Warrior Project and Merging Vets & Players, was named the Panthers’ 2024 nominee for the NFL Salute to Service Award.
