The Carolina Panthers have a pretty big boy in the building on Thursday.
University of Georgia’s Darnell Washington, per his own Instagram story, is in Charlotte for a top-30 visit with the team. Of the 18 reported top-30 visits for the Panthers, the 6-foot-7, 264-pound tight end is the first of his position to be brought into 800 South Mint Street.
Finally, a TE visits the #Panthers!

Washington’s size, obviously, makes him an intriguing prospect amongst his pass-catching peers. But when you factor in the startling athleticism that goes along with it, the 21-year-old is easily one of the most eye-opening players in the entire 2023 NFL draft class.
The Las Vegas native spent three years down in Athens–where he reeled in 45 balls for 774 yards and three touchdowns over 37 games. Although somewhat of a project in the passing game, as he’s already a pro-ready blocker, Washington may be an enticing option for the Panthers with the 39th overall selection of the draft.
