Panthers getting WR Adam Thielen, 2 key defenders back at practice

Some much-needed help could soon be on the way for the 1-6 Carolina Panthers.

As announced on Wednesday afternoon, the team has designated two players to return to practice—wideout Adam Thielen and saftey Jordan Fuller. The veteran receiver has missed the last four games due to a hamstring injury.

Thielen injured his hamstring while reeling in a 31-yard touchdown pass in Carolina’s 36-22 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3. The 34-year-old would officially be placed on injured reserve two days later.

He and Fuller will have 21 days to be moved to the active roster.

The Panthers will also be getting outside linebacker D.J. Wonnum back on the practice field.

Wonnum, who has yet to make his team debut, signed a two-year deal worth up to $12.5 million this past spring. The 26-year-old defender was expected to start alongside fellow University of South Carolina Gamecock Jadeveon Clowney to begin the regular season, but sustained a setback during his recovery from a torn quad.
