Panthers to activate Jaycee Horn ahead of Week 13 game vs. Buccaneers

Jaycee Horn’s third NFL season may have new life after all.

As first reported by ESPN senior reporter Jeremy Fowler this morning, the Carolina Panthers are expected to activate the 24-year-old cornerback ahead of Sunday’s contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Horn has not played since the regular-season opener due to a hamstring injury.

Interim head coach Chris Tabor, per Joe Person of The Athletic, sounded optimistic about Horn’s status after Friday’s practice.

“I think he’s had a good week,” Tabor said. “We’ll just have to go into the evaluation process. Just leaving practice so haven’t had an opportunity to speak with the other parties involved.”

Horn was designated to return from injured reserve on Nov. 13. The Panthers had until Monday to officially move him to the active roster before the expiration of his 21-day window.

His activation does not necessarily mean he will play against the Buccaneers in Week 13, as the team had a few spots to spare on its active roster. If Horn does suit up, it’ll be his 18th career game out of a possible 44 outings since being drafted with the eighth overall pick in 2021.
