Prior to Week 15, the Carolina Panthers were easily the NFL’s biggest joke.
After all, even with absurdly cheap ticket prices, they could barely fill their home stadium with supporting fans to an embarrassing degree. But after Carolina’s sleepy 9-7 upset win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, that dubious title might now belong to Arthur Smith’s team.
At least, judging by the Panthers players’ reactions in the postgame.
One of the more notable one-liners came from Carolina defensive tackle Derrick Brown in the locker room via a video from Josh Graham (@JoshGrahamShow on Twitter). With a beaming smile on his face, Brown chuckled and prematurely (but probably not inaccurately) roasted the Falcons for “going on vacation” in a few weeks. Just like the Panthers will.
I mean, Atlanta technically isn’t out of the NFC South division title race just yet. But hoo boy, it sure does feel like it:

The Panthers got their second win of the season and are an utter mess. But they can rest easy knowing the rival Falcons aren’t much better.
