The No. 1 pick is officially (and finally) signed, sealed and delivered.
As first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on Friday, the Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms with quarterback Bryce Young. Young, of course, was the first overall selection of the 2023 NFL draft.
The #Panthers and No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young have agreed to terms on his 4-year fully guaranteed $37.96 contract that includes nearly $24.6M in a signing bonus that he gets up front. He’ll sign soon.

Since being drafted, the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner has shined just as he did at the University of Alabama. From earning rave reviews courtesy of head coach Frank Reich to gaining the approval of his new veteran teammates, the 21-year-old passer has impressed during his early performances in organized team activities.
He’s been so impressive, in fact, that he’s moved up to the No. 1 spot on the depth chart prior to training camp—a move Reich and general manager Scott Fitterer were zeroing in on for weeks. Young was previously positioned below 13-year veteran Andy Dalton before taking this next big step.
Young, as Rapoport notes, is now slated in on a four-year, $37.9 million deal with an upfront signing bonus of $24.6 million.
