Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding review: sustainable, cooling and silky smooth sheets

Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding set.

It’s hard to definitively decide who takes the crown for the best sheets, as bedding is completely unique to your sleep and bedroom style. But if you’re looking for luxurious, soft and breathable bedding that uses eco-friendly materials, then you should consider Panda London’s Signature+ Bamboo Bedding.

Founded in 2015, Panda London is a leading bamboo bedding specialist and while it designs and manufactures its own mattress, duvets and pillows, the brand is probably best known for its bed sheets. Its latest bedding collection, the Signature+ collection, is defined as the ‘epitome of smooth, refined elegance’, so I was excited to give them a try – keep reading for my full Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding review.

Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding review: price and availability

The full Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding set is £175 and available to buy at Panda London. Within the set, you received a fitted sheet, duvet cover and two pillowcases. The bedding set comes in single, double, king and super king sizes, and is available in two colours: cream or forest green.

If you don’t want to buy the full bedding set, you can buy just the sheet, duvet and pillow cases separately. £175 might be a bit expensive for some people, although Panda London runs seasonal sales, so make sure to check out these Panda London sales, deals and discount codes.

Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding review: design and features

As the name suggests, the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding is made from bamboo lyocell material. The sustainable fabric is organically grown and rather than relying on fertilisers or pesticides to help the bamboo grow, Panda London’s non-toxic manufacturing process relies on rainwater and ensures 98% of water used in production is reused and recycled.

Alongside bamboo’s eco-friendly credentials, the material has many benefits that can help you sleep better. The fabric is super soft and hypoallergenic, so it can easily cater to people with sensitive skin and allergies. It’s also naturally antibacterial, so it reduces dust mites and bacteria build-up, plus the material is exceptionally smooth so it’s kind to skin and hair.

The Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding is the brand’s softest ever bamboo bedding, and it’s designed to keep you cool during the summer and warm during the winter. With bamboo’s moisture-wicking properties, the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding draws sweat and moisture away from the skin for a more breathable and cooling night’s sleep. It’s also odour-resistant so it’s less likely to smell and stays dry more easily.

Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding review: performance

Since many experts state that bamboo is the best material for sleep, I was excited to try the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding. I’m quite a fidgety sleeper who often wakes up with hair in disarray and I tend to overheat a lot, so I couldn’t wait to see if the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding would fix these problems.

My first impression of the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding when I opened up the bag was how nice and compact the packaging was. The sheet, duvet cover and pillow cases came with a brief explanation on the bamboo material, and it was extremely easy to put on my bed (I got a double size in forest green).

I loved the feel and look of the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding. I didn't know what bamboo material would feel like and it definitely surpassed my expectations as it felt like silk. The forest green colour was very pretty and the wooden buttons added a nice touch to the design. I enjoyed the way the sheets felt on my skin and hair, although my fiancé who doesn’t enjoy the feeling of silk found it a little slippery.

Speaking of slippery, the fitted sheet of the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding often came off on one of the corners. It wasn’t a huge issue (mainly because it didn’t happen on my side of the bed!) but it was something that had to be fixed every morning.

Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding keeps its promises in the cooling department. I started using them when the weather started to heat up but the sheets felt very breathable and I didn’t wake up in a puddle of sweat. I also found that the pillow cases were good for taming the frizz and wildness of my hair, and I noticed less tangles.

The main issue I had with the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding was that it stained easily on the pillow cases. My fiancé often goes to bed with damp hair or hair that’s had gel in it, and I noticed huge marks where he’d slept. Aside from that, I didn’t notice any sweat stains so the moisture-wicking technology is a big win here.

Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding review: verdict

The Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding set is exceptionally soft, silky and smooth on skin and hair. With the sheet, duvet cover and pillow cases on your bed, you’re more likely to have a comfortable and cooling night’s sleep, and Panda London definitely doesn’t let itself down with its eco-friendly and breathable properties.

I wish there were more colours available and that the pillow cases didn’t stain as easily, but the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding get top marks from me, due to its silky feel and breathability.

Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding review: alternatives to consider

A good alternative to consider is the Panda London 100% Bamboo Bedding Set. The predecessor of the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding, these sheets are cheaper, come in more colours and still use bamboo material for a sustainable night’s sleep. The two differ as the Panda London Signature+ Bamboo Bedding uses bamboo lyocell whereas the Panda London 100% Bamboo Bedding Set is made of bamboo fibres.
