Pamela Anderson sticks to barefaced beauty at the 2023 Fashion Awards

For a woman synonymous with boob jobs and Botox, Pamela Anderson has been making real waves with her au naturale beauty looks over the last year.

The Baywatch star debuted her new pared back vibe when she appeared on the cover of the WWD fashion journal completely barefaced this February, with her freckles and matchstick-thin brows taking center stage.

Next, she rocked up to Paris Fashion Week sans-makeup, a move which shocked everyone but herself. “I’m makeup free at home, so why not for Paris Fashion Week? I really didn’t know anyone would notice it, but I’m glad it became a positive message,” she told People in an interview at the time.

Now, Pammy is proving that the festive party season is no exception. At the Fashion Awards last night, she arrived looking radiant and fresh faced, her trademark bleach blonde hair pulled back in a low ponytail to reveal her glowing skin and signature brows, as razor thin as ever.

The understated beauty look was paired with an equally subtle ensemble by Victoria Beckham, made up of tailored, wide-leg white trousers, an oversized ivory t-shirt with a slit across the neckline, and a boxy cream blazer, worn over Anderson's shoulders. The only colour in the look emanated from Anderson's nails and peep-toe high heels, which tied the outfit together with a wine red tone. She also sported a smattering of delicate jewellery by Pandora.

But if what Pammy has said in the past is anything to go by, this new makeup-free appearance isn't statement. "I felt so free. It was not meant to be a statement, it is not world peace and I didn’t know if anybody would notice," Anderson told The Telegraph earlier this year. "I just wanted to spend more time in Paris. I wanted to go walking through the gardens, and look at the gardens and the sculptures and the architecture. I am not sitting in a make-up chair for three hours. I looked in the mirror and said, ‘You are almost 60, this is good enough, just enjoy Paris and not play the game’.”

It's also part of how comfortable Anderson has become with ageing, though she prefers to call it "life-ing." "Chasing youth is futile," she told People. "All we can do is embrace who we are at the moment we are in, and be okay with where our feet stand right now.”

Words to live by. Perhaps Pamela's influence will set a trend for 2023's party season, and we can all be spared from the laborious task of makeup application for one precious evening.
