Pamela Anderson says her sons didn't know their PE teacher was a security guard

Pamela Anderson went to great lengths to protect her two sons during their childhood, even hiring a security guard to act as their assistant PE teacher.

The 55-year-old Baywatch icon said becoming a mother "changed everything" and made her desire privacy in a way she never had before.

Pamela shares her two children — Brandon Thomas Lee, 26, and Dylan Jagger Lee, 25 — with her ex-husband Tommy Lee and has revealed the "clever ways" she made sure her sons were protected.

"Well, the things you won't do for yourself, you do for your kids," she admitted during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

The host, 47, suggested they both shared a desire for "protecting our children the way we never got to have that protection."

Pamela agreed and admitted: "My kids didn't know they had a security guard at school."

Holding back tears, she explained: "I hired someone to be an assistant PE instructor just to be there because people were trying to take them off the schoolyard.

"I had to find clever ways to make them feel everything was normal, but I needed to know eyes were on them, and I was not going to take that chance."

Drew reassured her guest: "I mean your dad and Tommy teamed up against the paparazzi and when they were going after you at the Viper room, and at a certain point I so understand, I get it.

"This is not okay. They didn't sign up for this."

Pamela agreed: "It's so hard."

The actress recently opened up about her relationship with her son's dad Tommy and admitted she has never truly gotten over him.

The pair tied the knot with Tommy back in 1995, after knowing each other for just four days, and went on to have a turbulent three-year romance.

In her new Netflix documentary, Pamela opens up about her heartbreak after splitting up with Tommy and said she would now rather be alone than be with the wrong person.

"What it all comes down to is that I never got over not being able to make it work with the father of my kids.

"And even though I thought I could recreate a family or fall in love with somebody else, it's just not me," she said on camera.

"So that's probably why I keep failing in all my relationships - I'd rather be alone than not be with the father of my kids."
