Celtic winger Luis Palma has been snubbed for a Honduras call-up with manager Reinaldo Rueda branding a selection "high risk".
The 24-year-old was overlooked for matches against French Guiana and Jamaica during the international break.
Palma had been involved in the last CONCACAF qualifiers for Honduras - against Trinidad and Robado and Jamaica.
However, after dropping out of the Celtic side under Brendan Rodgers, Palma has not been called up by Rueda - but is not out of the picture for the national team moving forward.
Explaining Palma's omission from the national team squad, Rueda told Deportes TVC:
"Luis Palma has had a difficult time since his injury in February. We couldn't have him in March.
"I think he had a good preseason, he recovered, he played some minutes in preseason.

"Then, when the tournament started in the last month, he hasn't had any competition.
"So it is a high risk for him when he is not at his best and even more so when we are going to have difficult matches."
Palma has only played four times for Celtic this season. The winger climbed off the bench in three occasions and started once this term with Daizen Maeda and Nico Kuhn the preferred starters on the wings.
Rueda has confirmed Palma will come back into contention in the next international break as he hopes the player makes a resurgence in the Celtic first-team.
He said: "Against Jamaica and Trinidad he had a lot of minutes, we gave him minutes so that he could once again appear in his club, but he had no competition in the last games, we hope he recovers and that we can count on him in the next match."
