Following the return of four Israeli hostages on Saturday, Palestinian prisoners are expected to be released and transferred to two locations as announced by the Israel Prison Service.
The Palestinian prisoners will be transferred to Ofer Prison in the occupied West Bank and Ktziot Prison in the Negev desert. The Red Cross will facilitate the transportation of the prisoners from Ofer prison to release points in the West Bank, similar to the previous week's release process.
Israeli security forces will escort the released prisoners to the Kerem Shalom (Karam Abu Salem) border crossing, which is under Israeli control and located at the intersection of the Israel, Gaza, and Egypt borders.
However, the final destination of the released prisoners after reaching the border crossing remains uncertain.
Hamas has stated that it anticipates the release of approximately 200 Palestinian prisoners on Saturday, including 120 individuals serving life sentences and 80 others with high sentences, as part of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement.
The Israel Prison Service has confirmed that it has received the list of prisoners expected to be released but has not yet disclosed the names to the public.
