CAMPAIGNERS are set to march to the US Embassy in London to demand freedom for Palestine amid Donald Trump's comments on a Gaza ethnic cleansing plan.
The demonstration, organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), is set to be held on Saturday, February 15.
It comes after US President Trump effectively endorsed the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in a shock announcement where he said the US would “take over” Gaza and “own it”.
Trump told a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Gaza could become the “Riviera of the Middle East” while refusing to rule out sending US troops to occupy the territory.
The American President told journalists on Tuesday evening that “the only reason the Palestinians want to go back to Gaza is they have no alternative”.
He refused to answer questions from journalists on how and under what authority the US can occupy Gaza.
The rally will begin at 12pm, and march from Whitehall.
PSC called on demonstrators to "make this the biggest march yet", and claimed the "police are trying to shut down our movement".
In January, former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn hit out at the Met Police over its handling of a Palestine rally, where more than 70 demonstrators were arrested on suspicion of breaching protest conditions after reportedly breaking through a police line as they marched from Whitehall.
The campaign group added: "As Palestinians continue to face Israel’s genocide, settler-colonialism, military occupation and apartheid, we must continue our campaigning in solidarity with their struggle for freedom.
"Join us in London us we demand: freedom for Palestine, no to ethnic cleansing, stop arming Israel!"
