During the United Nations General Assembly in New York, world leaders are not only delivering speeches at the podium but also engaging in important discussions on the sidelines. Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the pressing issue of Gaza and the ongoing conflict, referring to it as a 'genocide.'
Expressing his concerns, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the need for global intervention to address the situation in Gaza. He stated that the UN gathering should serve as a platform for resolving the conflict, urging world leaders to come together for a solution.
Accompanying the Prime Minister, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif echoed similar sentiments, identifying Gaza as the central issue at the UN meeting. Despite acknowledging the limitations of the UN as a platform for crucial discussions, Asif emphasized its significance as the primary multilateral forum available.
It is important to note that Pakistan does not maintain formal diplomatic relations with Israel. The country has been actively advocating for a ceasefire in the prolonged conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, emphasizing the need for immediate action to address the humanitarian crisis.
