A Paisley mum appeared in court yesterday after mocking her
ex-partner in a TikTok video.
Pregnant Nicola Manson, of Nethercraigs Drive, was hauled before a sheriff after posting a video on the social media claiming the dad of her daughter, Kevin Pursley, was an absent father.
While clutching the tot, the 31-year-old mum was filmed stating she would be the “best daddy in the world” and singing “where are you now?”
However, the social media stunt was a breach of conditions previously set by Paisley Sheriff Court.
Yesterday, Manson admitted ahead of her trial that she had published the clip online even though she’d been ordered not to post any comments on any social media platform relating to Mr Pursley.
Procurator fiscal depute Maria Murdoch played footage of a TikTok video to the court that showed Manson holding the child singing to a soundtrack called ‘Where are you now’.
Ms Murdoch told the court: “The video had the words ‘I’m going to be the best baby daddy in the world’ written across it and it had hashtag captions which included ‘#bestdaddy, #absent, #singleparentsclub’.
“The complainer, Kevin Pursley, recognised the video to make reference to him and reported it to the police.
“The accused was traced at her home address and wasn’t officially arrested, but was taken to the police office for interview.

“She provided a ‘no comment’ interview and she was then arrested, cautioned and charged when she replied, ‘It was nothing to do with Kevin Pursley, it was to do with my son’s dad, Christopher McAlpine’.”
Defence agent, Frank Clark said the mother-of-two is currently in her final trimester and is expecting her third baby.
Mr Clark explained: “She lives with her two children and her current partner.
“She suffers borderline personality disorder, is diagnosed with PTSD and is prescribed an antipsychotic drug called Quetiapine.
“This was Manson addressing her perception of Mr Pursley being an absent father.
“Nowadays with social media, the fingers type before the brain is activated.
“Her belief was she did not name Pursley and was, therefore, not breaching her conditions, despite having his daughter on her knee.
“She apologises for breaching her order.”
Ms Murdoch added that Pursley would be seeking a non-harassment order, which left Manson sobbing from the dock.
Mr Clark asked for the court to show mercy for the stunt and grant an absolute discharge.
But Sheriff Bruce Erroch QC said: “A breach of a court order is always a serious issue and therefore it has to be marked in some way.”
Sheriff Erroch QC deferred sentence for Manson to be of good behaviour for three months.
She will return to court on June 17 for sentencing and her bail was continued.
A non-harassment order preventing Manson from contacting Pursley for two years was also imposed.
