Joy Elliott, hospice Patient and Family Support Team Lead, said: “Accord’s annual service is a very important time for us all. We come together to remember all those who have touched our lives.
“For the staff it is a privilege to be able to support the patients and families who are in need of our care and support. We also take this time to remember those who we have met though our community teams, inpatient unit or indeed in grief.
“The service is Accord's way of saying we remember all those cared for and the families who are left to deal with the challenges of grief.
“The last two services have been held in a virtual way and we are delighted to be able to have those attending back in person.”
The focus of this year’s event is Rubies of Remembering as Accord has been supporting families who know someone with a with life-limiting illnesses for 40 years and the precious stone - the ruby - is generally used to mark 40th anniversarys.
Small rubies will form a bigger display on the day of the service, and there will also be a table for youngsters to decorate a ruby as part of their time to remember those who have passed in their family.
Anyone attending is more than welcome to stay after the service for refreshments.
The service will begin at 3pm and more information is available by emailing SOR@accord.org.uk or calling 0141 581 2000.
