A female motorcyclist has been hospitalised following a horrific crash near Paisley yesterday morning.
The 34-year-old was travelling along the M8 near junction 28A close to the St James Interchange around 9.25am when the single-vehicle smash occurred.
Police have since issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward with information as they work to investigate the circumstances.
Officers say that multiple people stopped to help the woman after she came off her bike.
The rider of the white Yamaha was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow suffering from serious injuries. The road was closed then reopened around 10.25am.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, of Glasgow road policing, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident to contact us.
“I would ask any motorists particularly with dash-cams who were in and around that area to check the footage as it may have captured images that could assist in our investigation.
“We are also keen to speak to anyone who stopped to assist the woman but who has not yet spoken to police. Anyone with information is urged to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1266 of 4 June, 2023."
