A Paisley carer who stole an elderly patient's bank card and went on a spending spree has been barred from working in the industry.
Donna Bain was convicted of theft and fraud at Paisley Sheriff Court after stealing two bank cards in 2018. She then went on to use the cards at various shops by pretending that she was authorised to use them.
After taking one of the cards, she went on to spend £115 from the person's account.

The disgraced carer has now been struck off the Scottish Social Services Council register and won't be allowed to work in the industry.
A report by the panel described Donna's behaviour as 'dishonest' and 'extremely serious'.
It added: "During your employment, you stole bank cards. You proceeded to use one of those bank cards to make contactless purchases for your own financial gain. Your behaviour was dishonest and falls far below the standards of practice expected of registered social services workers. Dishonest, criminal behaviour is incompatible with continued professional registration.
"The behaviour caused direct financial harm to the victim. Crimes involving dishonesty are particularly serious because they undermine trust in social services.
"The behaviour leading to the convictions was not isolated but involved multiple instances of dishonest behaviour. You had access to the bank card by virtue of your employment and abused the trust placed in you by your employer and colleagues."
It was concluded that a removal order was the only appropriate sanction.
