Paisley has seen its first ever Prime Minister voted into Number 10.
Liz Truss, who spent much of her youth as a Buddie, this afternoon won the fight to become the next leader of the Conservative Party.
The current foreign secretary took 53 per cent of the votes cast by members of the party across the UK.

The 47 year old moved to Paisley when she was four years old, living there from 1979 to 1985 when she attended West Primary School.
Her new address will become 10 Downing Street when she returns from visiting the Queen at Balmoral tomorrow.
Truss is now under pressure to announce immediate support for low income families and businesses struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.
During her acceptance speech today, she said she would “deliver” when it comes to the crisis by not only dealing with bills but also long-term supply issues.
She is expected to make a statement on soaring energy bills on Thursday.
She also plans to forge ahead with plans to cut taxes which were at the heart of her manifesto to become Boris Johnson’s successor.
She wants to reverse the 1.25 per cent National Insurance hike and next year’s corporation tax rise imposed by the current administration.
