College Sports Wire considered two Georgia Bulldogs to be top-25 NFL draft prospects. Not surprisingly, Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is the highest-ranked tight end in the 2024 NFL draft.
Bowers, who returned from TightRope surgery on his ankle against Ole Miss, has a rare combination of speed and ability after the catch. College Sports Wire ranks Bowers as the No. 6 prospect in the draft. Of course, Bowers and nobody else on Georgia has declared for the draft, but he is expected to elect to enter the draft following the season.
The junior tight end is a great safety blanket and an absolute monster with the ball in his hands, averaging nearly 10 yards after the catch per reception this season. He can create a big play every time the ball is in his hands.
Bowers is also an excellent blocker. He does not overwhelm defenders with his size, but he has great body control and runs efficient routes.
Additionally, College Sports Wire considers Georgia cornerback Kamari Lassiter to be the No. 24 prospect in the 2024 NFL draft. Lassiter has put together two consecutive great games against Missouri star wide receiver Luther Burden and Ole Miss star wide receiver Tre Harris. Lassiter followed Luther Burden across the field a lot when the two met on Nov. 4.
Lassiter has popped the most to me while watching Georgia‘s defense this season. Missouri superstar Luther Burden III only got the better of him with either a perfect throw or an impressive catch. The Bulldogs’ game against Florida didn’t look close on paper, and it wasn’t, but the Gators drew up a few creative plays with the idea of wide receiver Ricky Pearsall putting them back in the game, and Lassiter never gave him an inch.
Georgia will need Kamari Lassiter to continue to improve over the next several weeks as the Dawgs gear up for the SEC championship against Alabama.
