Pair of 3-year-old girls, 4 adults injured when Manhattan driver jumps sidewalk

NEW YORK — A woman lost control of her car and struck six people, including two young girls, in Manhattan on Wednesday, according to police.

The driver was near the corner of West 190th Street and Broadway in Washington Heights when she mounted the sidewalk outside R.G. Ortiz Funeral Home around 6:10 p.m., cops said.

She slammed into the 3-year-old girls, three women and a man before she got out of the car and took off on foot, they added.

The driver quickly changed her mind and returned to the crash site.

The girls suffered bloody noses and were taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

The three women had neck and back pain after the crash and were taken to the same hospital, cops said. The man had an injury to his leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside.

All of the victims were in stable condition later Wednesday night.

The driver was taken into police custody at the scene. It was not immediately clear if she would face charges.
