Local residents were left roaring with laughter after seeing seeing two people driving a dodgem car down a street complete with flashing fairground flashing lights.
As if the most normal form of transport, the pair in their low down bumper car were heading along the pavement in Musselburgh, East Lothian.
The bizarre scene was filmed by TikTok user Amy Turner who was in a vehicle that was heading down the quiet residential road.
She and another member in the car can be heard shrieking with laughter at seeing the dodgem car, usually found in fairgrounds and theme parks - along Pinkie Road and then heading into Macbeth Moir Road.
The two people in the bumper car can be seen looking across at the car filming them and then carrying on regardless.
They happily continue down the street, seemingly unfazed by the attention their colourfully-lit motor is attracting from passing drivers.
Amy shared the video with the caption "The things you see in Musselburgh" and it has gone viral with over 34,000 likes and more than 400,000 views.
There have also been 308 people who have rushed to comment on the strange event.
One commenter wrote: "Tell me u live in the uk without telling me".
Others were impressed by the unusual means of travel, with one user commenting: "I want one". Someone else joked: "These electric cars are becoming so much more affordable these days."
Another person said: "Now that I've never seen before," but one user said they had done in Leith.
While decidedly unusual, it isn’t the first time someone has been seen driving a dodgem car in the UK.
Five years ago a man was seen sitting in a bumper car in the middle of the road in a bizarre dash cam clip in Harlow.
The middle-aged man wearing shorts and sleeveless top can be seen sitting behind the wheel of the dodgem.
He appeared to be waiting at a road junction but the clip gives no clue how he got there - or how he planned to get anywhere else.
The video was shared on Facebook with the caption: “Not something you see on the road every day.”
