Pair charged as cannabis plants worth £300,000 found in Edinburgh flat

POLICE have arrested two people and confiscated cannabis plants worth around £300,000 after searching a flat in Edinburgh.

Around 500 plants were discovered by officers at the property in Ochiltree Gardens at about 9am on Monday.

Police Scotland said a 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested and charged and are expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in due course.

Inspector Scott Casey said: “Serious and organised crime remains a priority and along with our partners and specialist resources, we are committed to detecting offences and disrupting criminal enterprises.

“We rely on the public to provide us with information to help us do so.”
