Paddy Reading eyed for Partick Thistle transfer as Ayr United defender set for tug of war

Partick Thistle are eyeing a deal for Ayr United defender Paddy Reading.

The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer but has been a regular for the struggling Honest Men.

Ayr are keen to keep him and he is currently in talks over extending his stay.

But Thistle boss Ian McCall has been impressed with the left-back and is looking closely at his situation.

Reading joined the Championship side in July 2020 and has made 63 appearances in total.

Ayr boss Lee Bullen is keen to keep him at Somerset Park.

Reading came through the ranks at Middlesbrough but moved to Ayr from Stevenage two years ago.

Thistle have already been active with the pre-contract signings of Anton Dowds from Falkirk
