Paddy Power leave bench outside Old Trafford in tribute of Cristiano Ronaldo's second stint at Manchester United

Paddy Power have pulled their latest prank at the expense of Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal international has fallen out of favour with new boss Erik Ten Hag and will not be included in this weekend's squad after refusing to come on against Tottenham.

The legendary forward has found his playing time limited under the new boss and has spent a lot of this season on the substitute bench.

And Irish bookmaker poked fun at the five time Champions League winner by dropping a bench outside the ground with a plaque that reads: " “In honour of Ronaldo’s second stint at Man United. £480,000 a week to sit on a bench” (August 2021-January 2023)"

Ronaldo could yet leave the club in January with Paddy Power now giving odds on his next club.

Fellow Premier League outfit Chelsea are front runners at 4/1 while Roma and Sporting Lisbon are 5/1 and 15/2.

Any Saudi Arabian club is 9/1 while an MLS club is 10/1.

A Paddy Power spokesperson said: “It’s been a bad couple of weeks for Ronaldo; he’s being stuck with his backside on the naughty step.

"Unfortunately his second time in Manchester hasn’t panned out as he would’ve hoped and it looks as though it’s about to end too SIIIIIUUUUUUUUUN!”
