Paddy Pimblett has rejected Dana White's offer to have his next fight in New York on a main event card and reveals why he's looking to fight elsewhere.
Last month, Pimblett defended his UFC unbeaten streak when he fought in London, defeating Jordan Leavitt at the O2 Arena, his toughest opponent to date, after locking in a rear-naked choke in the second round.
It was a statement win for Pimblett, who many continue to raise doubts due to the level of his opponents so far, but Leavitt is seen as an up-and-coming fighter in the division with a strong record.
RECAP: All the action from UFC London as it happened
After having his last two fights in London, Pimblett is now looking to return to the United States for his future fights - and has admitted that he's looking forward to being stateside.
UFC president White had stated that he would like Pimblett to fight on one of the east coast cards coming up, with events in Boston and New York scheduled.
However, Pimblett is not keen on that and has stated why he will not fight in New York. He said: "No I am not fighting in New York. End of. I am not fighting in New York. I am not getting robbed by the taxman."
Unlike the state of New York, Nevada has no state income tax - meaning fighters take home considerably more than when in New York in comparison to their contract.
Pimblett's debut took place in las Vegas last September where he defeated Luigi Vendramini.
