Paddy Pimblett has once again been compared to Conor McGregor - this time by UFC veteran Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson. The 39-year-old kickboxing legend is impressed with both Pimblett and Khamzat Chimaev - who continue to boost their statures despite being early into their UFC careers.
Pimblett was victorious in his second fight in the UFC this past weekend, defeating Kazula Vargas in dramatic fashion after coming back from early adversity as he did in his first fight with Luigi Vendramini. The win has seen Pimblett quickly become one of most likeable stars in the industry, whilst putting the lightweight division on notice.
Chimaev meanwhile, is seen as the most dangerous fighter in the UFC since Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Russian-born Swedish fighter is a three-time National wrestling champion in Sweden and has dominated everybody he has faced so far with his superior wrestling, whilst also showing his striking power.

Both are seen as charismatic, future stars in the industry. However, Wonderboy Thompson has warned that neither will be able to reach the level of the Irishman McGregor.
On his YouTube channel, he said: "You look at these guys coming up like (Chimaev) and Paddy 'The Baddy', they just, they don't have the hype around them like (Conor McGregor) does. Conor has just changed the game forever.
"I mean, he's going down in UFC history for everything. Being champ-champ, you know what I mean? Being, you know, highest paid of all time, the biggest star ever in UFC history. He's going to be remembered forever, like Muhammad Ali."
