Paddy Pimblett issues warning to Drake over Rolex watch after UFC victory

Paddy Pimblett has jokingly warned Drake not to "back out" after agreeing to buy him and teammate Molly McCann Rolex watches.

Pimblett took the latest successful step on his UFC journey when he defeated 155lb rival Jordan Leavitt at London's O2 arena last month. Prior to his victory, rapper Drake had placed a bet on the rising star and teammate McCann to pick up victories on the card, with McCann also scoring a stoppage victory over Hannah Goldy.

Drake won around £3million after placing a £1.9million double on the pair, which saw McCann call for the Canadian to buy the pair Rolex watches after the fight. She posted a video on Instagram making a request to Drake, where she said: "Drake we have just broken your course lad. Can I have a Rolex please?" Pimblett also appeared and added: "Champagne Papi come on what are we getting for that?"

McCann later claimed Drake had accepted their request via direct message on Instagram, which would see the pair given the watches during their next visit to the US. Pimblett has since claimed the pair are due to meet up with Drake in Chicago where they expect to receive their watches.

"Hopefully he is coming to Chicago in a few days to meet us there and give us our watches," Pimblett told reporters when asked if Drake had shown any sign of fulfilling the promise. "Molly was messaging him after the fight so hopefully he comes to Chicago and we can meet him, that would be sound. He can't back out on it now, can he? He said he was going to get us a watch so he has to get us a watch."

The hip-hop artist placed a series of failed bets on the UFC earlier this year, having first backed Jorge Masvidal to beat Colby Covington in March with $275,00 only for 'Gamebred' to be comfortably outpointed by his bitter rival. Drake then placed a bet on Justin Gaethje to become UFC champion back in May but he was quickly choked out by Charles Oliveira.

He was accused of jinxing fighters from his past bets but has now finally turned the tables after backing Israel Adesanya to retain his titles against Jarod Cannonier before his winning bet in London.
