Paddy Pimblett claims YouTube boxer Logan's Paul's call-out has backfired

Paddy Pimblett has laughed at Logan Paul 's fight call-out after claiming the YouTube star previously called him a "clout chaser".

Paul named Pimblett as his dream UFC opponent earlier this year, stating the "loud mouth" Liverpudlian shared similar characteristics to himself. 'The Baddy' welcomed the challenge with open arms and was even prepared to move up two weight classes to fight Paul, who has never competed in MMA before.

The UFC fan favourite makes his third promotional appearance this Saturday when he takes on Jordan Leavitt at The O2 arena. Pimblett thinks his star power is shown by YouTube stars such as Paul calling him out, stating: "Everyone has my name in their mouth, Logan Paul was talking about me the other week. It just shows that even YouTubers are talking about me because they know who the boy is.

"I just started giggling [at Logan’s call out] because a couple of months ago he messaged me calling me a clout chaser. Who’s the clout chaser now son? Who’s clout chasing who? Everybody knows what I’d do to him.” Pimblett has previously backed himself to submit Paul relatively quickly despite the American's considerable size advantage over him.

Paul was one of the first YouTubers who crossed over to boxing, fighting to a draw against KSI in 2018 and losing a rematch to the Brit the following year. The American cited Pimblett's ability to sell tickets and entertain fans as the reason he picked him as a favoured opponent.

Logan Paul has audaciously said he is coming for Paddy Pimblett (@TheTrueGeordie)

"I think I might have him on my podcast and say to him straight up 'I would like to fight you in the UFC'," Paul said on The MMA Hour. "He could get up to 185lb and I could get down to 185lb for a UFC match. It's the only thing I don't know if I would win, he is a good a** fighter and I have never had an MMA fight.

"If I am doing it obviously I think I am going to win. But now I am looking at it and if I do a UFC fight then I have to do it with someone else who can sell tickets. He is still relatively new and he is young and entertaining so I think the fans will eat that s*** up. There is too much going on at the moment but yeah."
