Paddy Pimblett chokes out Jordan Leavitt for third successive UFC victory

Paddy Pimblett remained unbeaten in the UFC by submitting Jordan Leavitt in the second round at UFC London.

Pimblett was looking for his third consecutive UFC win against Leavitt after stopping Kazula Vargas and Luigi Vendramini in his first two fights. Leavitt entered the fight with a record of 10-1 having only lost to Claudio Puelles last June. 'The Baddy' had his work cut out for him straight from the opening bell with Leavitt doing his best to drag him to the mat.

Leavitt was doing a better job than Pimblett's past two opponents, not giving 'The Baddy' an inch by working for takedowns against the fence. Pimblett took the back of Leavitt midway through the second round and landed some good strikes before eventually seeking the choke. Leavitt tried to fight the hands of Pimblett but eventually gave up his neck with 'The Baddy' forcing him to tap with a rear-naked choke.

Alexander Gustafsson made his UFC return after a two-year layoff but was brutally knocked out by Nikita Krylov in the first round. Krylov hurt Gustafsson, a three-time 205lb title challenger, seconds into the fight with the Swede never recovering from the early damage. A left hook dropped Gustafsson and Krylov followed up with ground and pound to bag himself the knockout win.

Pimblett's sidekick Molly McCann delivered a highlight-reel knockout against Hannah Goldy, hurting the American before dropping her with the exact same spinning elbows that earned her victory at UFC London three months ago. Paul Craig was unable to work his submission skills against Volkan Oezdemir as the Scot was out-struck three rounds, losing a one-sided decision to ‘No Time’. The loss snapped a six fight unbeaten run for Craig, who was looking to make a run for the light-heavyweight belt.
