Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann fights at UFC London confirmed as opponents named

Paddy Pimblett has officially been named on the UFC London card in March with his opponent officiallu confirmed.

The Liverpool star will face Kazula Vargas, a 36-year-old Mexican fighter with a 12-4 record.

This will be Pimbett's second fight since joining the UFC, following his spectacular debut in September with a victory over Luigi Vendramini.

The scouser was initially encouraged to face rival Jared Gordon, with UFC president Dana White stating that fight was likely to take place.

“Jared Gordon’s probably gonna be his [opponent]," White told Barstool Sports. However, those claims were refuted from the managers from both camps. Replying to a video on Twitter, Pimblett's manager Graham Boylan said: “We haven’t agreed on this and still discussing opponents.”

Pimblett made the move from Cage Warriors in 2021, coming off the back of an impressive three-win streak.

He followed that up with an impressive first-round knockout of Vendramini, before signing a multi-year deal with American sports media company Barstool Sports, becoming a popular figure amongst UFC fans.

His opponent Vargas grabbed his first UFC victory by defeating Rong Zhu in April 2021.

Fellow Merseyside fighter Molly McCann also appears on the card, coming up against Brazil's Luana Carolina.

McCann also fought on the same card as Pimblett in September, defeating Ji Yeon Kim in impressive style.

In response to Pimblett's fight being announced, McCann wrote: "Let's go little bro!".

This will be the first time a Fight Night will take place in London for three years - the last time saw a huge night with a number of ranked fighters in the octagon.

Elsewhere, British fighter heavyweight Tom Aspinall and Arnold Allen will both appear on the main card.

More fights are expected to be official announced in the coming days and weeks.
