Paddy Pimblett thinks he'd beat Logan Paul by submission after UFC call out

Paddy Pimblett has said that he is open to the prospect of a fight against YouTube star Logan Paul, revealing that he is confident of beating the 25-year-old via submission should the fight happen.

The Liverpool born fighter's profile is growing right now after he recently choked out Kazula Vargas and Paul looks to want to capitalise on his fame by claiming that he'd like to fight Pimblett if he ever entered the Octagon.

Paul said recently that having considered his options the 27-year-old is his preferred opponent, he said recently on the MMA Hour: "I have found out who I would like to fight if I did a UFC match. Paddy the Baddy (Pimblett),".

"He could get up to 185lbs and I could get down to 185lbs for a UFC match. It's the only thing I don't know if I would win, he is a good a** fighter and I have never had an MMA fight. If I am doing it obviously I think I am going to win. But now I am looking at it and if I do a UFC fight then I have to do it with someone else who can sell tickets.

Pimblett has not yet fought anyone ranked in the top fifteen in his division and will wait for a review of his UFC contract before progressing up the ranks within the company. However, he has left the door open to a fight which would take him out of the UFC, explaining: “He knows who the boy is, doesn’t he?," Pimblett told The Schmo. "He knows who will put bums on seats, lad. I can’t see him mentioning anyone else."

"I know he’s a lot bigger than me but I don’t think it really matters, to be honest. I think I’d submit him quite easily and quite quickly but you never know, anything can happen in a fight. If Logan Paul ever does want the fight, lad, I’m open to hearing what numbers he’s coming at us with."

Paul, 27, most recently fought Floyd Mayweather and turns his hand to promotion this weekend as he promotes Amanda Serrano for her fight against Katie Taylor at Madison Square Garden in New York. It remains to be seen if this is just talk or whether Pimblett and Paul really will do battle in the Octagon in the coming months.
