Paddy McGuinness is the latest star to take a seat in the iconic yellow CBeebies Bedtime Story chair.
The 51-year-old will settle into the beloved yellow chair to share The Stompysaurus by Rachel Bright and Chris Chatterton, a charming story about managing big emotions and frustrations.
The broadcaster, who is currently taking part in BBC Radio 2’s Ultra Endurance Cycle Challenge for BBC Children in Need, said he feels “honoured” to read a bedtime story to the nation’s kids and their parents.
McGuinness said: “What an honour to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story, it’s magical to share a story together. I hope little ones enjoy snuggling up with their grown-ups and watching it together.
“The book I’m reading, The Stompysaurus, is all about trying to slow down and relax when you’re feeling overwhelmed.
“Though for me, it’s going to be more about channelling my energy as I take on Radio 2’s huge cycling challenge for BBC Children in Need!”
The Radio 2 presenter’s storytime will air at 6:50 p.m. on Friday, November 15, on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
This follows last week's story from British actress Olivia Colman, who read the popular children’s classic The Gruffalo’s Child by Julia Donaldson, with illustrations by Axel Scheffler.
First published in 2004, the story continues from 1999's The Gruffalo, as the Gruffalo’s curious child decides to leave his safe home to go to find the Big Bad Mouse in defiance of her father’s warnings.
On her big adventure, she meets Snake, Owl and Fox, and appears to see something resembling the mouse.
Speaking ahead of the episode, which aired last Friday, the Oscar winner said: “I have loved CBeebies Bedtime Stories with my children over the years, I was so excited to be able to read one. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.”
Both Colman, 50, and McGuinness follow in the footsteps of other famous faces including Zayn Malik, Kylie Minogue and Billie Eilish to bring storytelling to life on the BBC.
Paddy McGuinness’ CBeebies Bedtime Story will air at 6.50pm on Friday 15 November, CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
