Paddy McGuinness is still living with Christine in the family home after split

Paddy McGuinness is still living with Christine McGuinness in their family home following the announcement of their split.

The couple announced their separation after 15 years together via a statement on their Instagram pages following weeks of speculation.

However, they have said they are still on good terms and living together 'happily'.

The Top Gear presenter and former The Real Housewives Of Cheshire cast member said in a joint statement: "We hadn’t planned on sharing this publicly until we were ready but after the lack of privacy surrounding our personal life, we feel left with no other option but to clarify.

"A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children. This was not an easy decision to make but we’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.

"We hope this now draws a line under anymore unwanted and unnecessary intrusion into our private life. Although we work in the public eye we ask kindly if you could respect our wishes for privacy on this matter. We’ll be making no further comment."

The pair signed off the message: "Loads of love. Paddy & Christine."

Rumours have emerged over the last few weeks that the pair were going through a tough time, with Christine saying marriages go through tough times but they were focusing on their children.

Paddy and Christine have three children together, Penelope, Felicity and Leo.

Appearing on ITV's Lorraine recently, Christine said: "I think marriages just go through ups and downs anyway. I think all marriages - especially long ones like ours - it's not always going to be plain sailing but we're trying to deal with things as privately as possible.

"We just want to be there to support the children and have an amazing summer. We're going away on a family holiday next week and we're really excited. They're always going to be our focus."

Despite saying they decided to split 'a while ago' the two are still spending family time together as they went on holiday as a five last week.

They were due to go to Spain but after realising just three days before that their youngest daughter's passport had expired they decided to go on a trip in the UK instead.

The family enjoyed a last-minute trip to Centre Parcs where they had a treehouse lodge.

Christine and Paddy both posted photos from their trip just hours before they announced that they had separated.

The mum-of-three shared a sweet video made up of clips from throughout their trip together.

The family enjoyed cupcake decorating classes, bowling, rock climbing and the arcade.

Christine wrote alongside the video: "Memories for life. My heart is smiling full with love and pride. Blessed mummy."
