"Getting his haircut used to be so upsetting for him and us but with patience and perseverance he now sits like a champ. Something so simple can be so challenging to a child with Autism."

He shared a snap of Felicity also getting her hair cut and proudly announced that all three of his children were "thriving". He continued: "Even though there’s still plenty of days when things don’t go that well it makes moments like this all the more rewarding.

"Of course his little sister Felicity had to get in on the act as well! Big thanks to @howardyuill for popping in after work and for a top haircut."

Christine McGuinness took to the comments to praise her children. She said: "So proud."

Fans flooded the comments to support the family after the post.

Josh said: "Brilliant. Well done guys."

Sophie added: "Massive achievement!"

Lucky posted : "Super proud parent moment!"

Dale said: "Love this, can totally relate to it, I have 3 grandchildren that are autistic age 7, 6, and 4. Two are non verbal. My grandson is the same when it comes to having his hair cut, caused so much trauma for us all. Well done Leo you little superstar "
