Green Bay Packers receiver Romeo Doubs has been named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 3 of the 2022 season.
Doubs, a fourth-round pick out of Nevada, caught eight passes on eight targets for 73 yards and his first career touchdown during the Packers’ 14-12 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
A starter for the first time, Doubs produced a 21-yard catch and a 5-yard touchdown on the team’s opening drive at Raymond James Stadium. He became the first Packers rookie since 1988 to catch at least eight passes in a regular season game.
Doubs beat out Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd, Saints receiver Chris Olave, Texans running back Dameon Pierce, Texans safety Jalen Pitre and Colts tight end Jelani Woods for the weekly award.
Doubs is the first Packers rookie to win the award since running back A.J. Dillon in Week 16 of the 2020 season. Before Dillon, running back Jamaal Williams won the award in Week 14 of the 2017 season.
Previous winners of the award this season were Commanders receiver Jahan Dotson in Week 1 and Jets receiver Garrett Wilson in Week 2.
Last year, Offensive Rookie of the Year Ja’Marr Chase won this award five times. After three weeks, Doubs is among the betting favorites for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
