Packers WR Jayden Reed coming off non-football injury list

The Green Bay Packers are getting back one of their top offensive playmakers for the team’s third training camp practice. Coach Matt LaFleur said receiver Jayden Reed — the team’s leading receiver last year — is cleared to practice and will be coming off the non-football injury (NFI) list on Wednesday.

LaFleur expects Reed to start with individual work on Wednesday before working his way up to team reps on Friday. The Packers have a mandated day off on Thursday.

“Yeah, Jayden is coming off (NFI) today,” LaFleur said. “He will be limited. We’ll work him back into individual. Hopefully, tomorrow is an off day and then we’ll get him back in a limited role in the team reps on Friday.”

Reed started training camp on the NFI list after suffering a toe injury while running a local football camp earlier this month. Neither Reed nor Brian Gutekunst was worried about the long-term nature of the injury, and Reed will end up missing only two practices.

Reed, a second-round pick last year, was the team’s leading receiver in 2023.

As of Wednesday, the Packers are still without tight end Tucker Kraft (pec), cornerback Corey Ballentine (hamstring), offensive tackle Caleb Jones (hamstring), safety Kitan Oladapo (toe), offensive lineman Donovan Jennings (knee) and running back MarShawn Lloyd (hip).

The non-football injury list is for players injured outside of team organized practices and games.
