The Green Bay Packers likely won’t have their top receiver available for Sunday night’s showdown with the Buffalo Bills.
According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Allen Lazard doesn’t think he’ll be playing Sunday in Buffalo after he heard a “snap, crackle, pop” in his shoulder during last week’s loss in Washington to the Commanders.
The injury happened on a hit following a first-down catch. Lazard left the game and didn’t return. He also didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday, providing the first sign that he would be a long shot to play in Week 8.
If Lazard isn’t available, the Packers will be without two of their preferred starters at receiver. Randall Cobb is on injured reserve.
Sammy Watkins just returned from injured reserve and was on a snap count against the Commanders. Rookie Christian Watson has practiced in a limited capacity each of the last two days.
The other Packers receivers on the roster are rookies Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure and second-year man Amari Rodgers. Juwann Winfree and Travis Fulgham are available on the practice squad.
Through six games, Lazard leads the team in receiving yards (340) and receiving touchdowns (4). He produced at least 50 receiving yards or a touchdown in all six games.
