The Green Bay Packers turned the ball over three times and trail 10-0 after the first half of Sunday’s NFC Wild Card Round showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Keisean Nixon fumbled the opening kickoff, setting up an Eagles touchdown after just 99 seconds, and Jordan Love threw a pair of interceptions during a disappointing first half.
The Packers defense is keeping Matt LaFleur’s team in the game. The Eagles have punted four times and have just 125 yards across six drives. While Philadelphia got a touchdown after Nixon’s fumble, the Eagles didn’t score after either of Love’s interceptions.
Brandon McManus, who missed just one field goal during the regular season, missed a 38-yarder wide right.
Love has struggled, completing nine of 15 passes for 70 yards. Jayden Reed has three catches for 33 yards, including a 20-yarder, but the Packers have accomplished little in the downfield passing game.
Josh Jacobs rushed 10 times for only 25 yards. His longest run is just five yards.
The offensive line lost left guard Elgton Jenkins to an injury, and backup Travis Glover was pulled in favor of Kadeem Telfort after the rookie committed three penalties, including two holding penalties.
The Eagles will receive the ball to open the second half.
Can the Packers continue to get stops defensively and eventually accomplish something offensively to get back into the game? Love will need to play significantly better in the second half for the Packers to rally from a 10-0 deficit.
