The Green Bay Packers traded up to No. 34 overall in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft and selected North Dakota State wide receiver Christian Watson.
The Packers sent both second-round picks (No. 53, No. 59) to the Minnesota Vikings to move up 19 spots and get Watson, arguably the best athlete in the wide receiver class.
The aggressive move finally gives Aaron Rodgers a new weapon in the passing game.
Watson (6-4, 208) caught 105 passes for 2,140 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns.
Watson aced the NFL Scouting Combine, running the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds, hitting 38.5″ in the vertical leap and covering 11-4 in the broad jump. His Relative Athletic Score is 9.96 out of 10.0.
