Packers to start training camp practices on July 27

Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur provided a preview of the early training camp schedule for his team this summer.

According to LaFleur, rookies will report on Friday, July 22, veterans will report on Tuesday, July 26 and the first practice will be Wednesday, July 27.

“The 27th will be practice No. 1,” LaFleur said.

This year’s training camp will be the 77th in team history. Practices are held at Ray Nitschke Field near Lambeau Field, and many will be open to the public.

Last year, the Packers had 13 total practices on the initial schedule.

The Packers will release the team’s full training camp schedule later this summer. Included will be the annual “Family Night Scrimmage” in early August and joint practices with the New Orleans Saints before the second week of the preseason. Last year, the team revealed its camp schedule on July 6.
