The Green Bay Packers will hold the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 2024 draft.
Matt LaFleur’s team finished 9-8, made the postseason as the No. 7 seed in the NFC and advanced to the divisional round. The Packers’ loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night locked in the 25th overall pick.
Last year’s 25th overall pick was tight end Dalton Kincaid, who went to the Buffalo Bils. The last time the Packers picked 25th, they selected cornerback Ahmad Carroll in 2004.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who lost to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, will pick 26th. The Arizona Cardinals get the Houston Texans’ pick at No. 27, and the Bills have the 28th pick.
Last year, the Packers finished 8-9, missed the postseason and held the 15th overall pick. It improved to No. 13 in the trade that sent Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets. The Packers used the pick to take Iowa edge rusher Lukas Van Ness, who finished his rookie season in 2023 with 4.0 sacks, 10 quarterback hits and eight tackles for loss.
The Packers have additional picks in the second and third rounds thanks to the Rodgers trade and the mid-season Rasul Douglas trade to Buffalo.
The Packers are also expected to earn up to three additional picks through the compensatory pick process. Departing free agents Allen Lazard, Jarran Reed and Dean Lowry all qualify for compensatory picks.
The 2024 draft will be held in Detroit. The first round is scheduled for April 25.
