A 59-yard bomb from Jordan Love to Christian Watson, a 12-yard touchdown catch from Tucker Kraft on third down, an interception from Keisean Nixon and a 6-yard rushing touchdown from Josh Jacobs during the first four minutes of the second half helped the Green Bay Packers take a 21-17 lead over the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.
On the first drive of the second half, Love went deep to Watson, who beat Carlton Davis on 2nd-and-11, and got the Packers to the 12-yard line. Three plays later, Love hit Kraft, who won a contested catch against Davis, for the scoring play on third down.
The drive went 70 yards in only five plays and took up just 1:45 of the third quarter clock. The score cut Detroit’s lead to 17-14.
Two plays into Detroit’s next drive, Nixon provided the long-awaited turnover, jumping an underneath pass from Jared Goff and returning the interception to the 16-yard line. A few plays later, Jacobs rumbled into the end zone on 1st-and-goal to give the Packers their first lead of the night.
