Packers rule out 3 players, including WR Romeo Doubs, for Week 13 vs. Dolphins

The Green Bay Packers will be without a starting wide receiver, a starting cornerback and a starting linebacker during Thursday’s holiday showdown with the Miami Dolphins.

The team ruled out receiver Romeo Doubs, cornerback Jaire Alexander and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper on the final injury report released Wednesday.

Doubs suffered a concussion during Sunday’s win over the San Francisco 49ers and was a long shot to get through the league’s concussion protocol in time to play against the Dolphins. Without Doubs, the Packers will likely ask more of Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton and Malik Heath as complementary players at receiver.

Alexander (knee) and Cooper (hamstring) will miss a second consecutive game with pre-existing injuries. Last week, Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine played the majority of the snaps at cornerback, while Eric Wilson and even rookie Ty’Ron Hopper got time at linebacker.

The Packers also listed center Josh Myers (pectoral), linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (ankle) and tight end John FitzPatrick (back) as questionable to play. All three were injured this past week.

Matt LaFleur’s team could be short-handed at linebacker if McDuffie — who was estimated as a limited participant Wednesday — can’t play.

The Dolphins ruled out linebacker Tyus Bowser, cornerback Kendall Fuller and linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. and listed starting left tackle Terron Armstead as questionable.
