Packers rookie RB Tyler Goodson spins away for 24-yard touchdown run vs. Chiefs

Tyler Goodson might have just locked up a roster spot as the No. 3 running back for the Green Bay Packers. The undrafted rookie from Iowa burst through a hole and then spun away from a tackler in the open field on his way to a 24-yard touchdown in the second quarter of Thursday night’s preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Right guard Jake Hanson and right tackle Royce Newman provided excellent blocks at the point of attack, opening the hole for Goodson to burst through. At the second level, center Josh Myers blew up the linebacker, giving Goodson more room to run, and then the rookie running back spun away from the tackle attempt of the final defender before reaching the end zone.

Here’s the touchdown:

Goodson started the game and has been on the field for all three series so far. He has six rushes for 25 yards and a touchdown and four catches for 22 yards.
