Packers return CB Jaire Alexander and WR Romeo Doubs to practice

The Green Bay Packers are practicing Sunday in advance of Thursday night’s showdown with the Detroit Lions, and Matt LaFleur’s team returned two big pieces to the practice field to start the week.

Cornerback Jaire Alexander and receiver Romeo Doubs were both practicing on Sunday afternoon, per Wes Hodkiewicz of the team’s official site.

Alexander has missed the last two games — both wins — while recovering from an aggravation of a knee ligament injury first suffered in Week 8. Doubs suffered a concussion during the Packers’ win over the San Francisco 49ers and missed last week’s win over the Miami Dolphins while in the league’s concussion protocol.

The pair’s practice attendance on Sunday — even in a limited capacity — is a terrific sign for their availability for a huge divisional matchup against the Lions at Ford Field in Week 14.

Per Hodkiewicz, the two players not practicing were linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, who has a hamstring injury and has missed back-to-back games, and cornerback Corey Ballentine, who injured his knee on the opening kickoff on Thursday night.

Coach Matt LaFleur will answer questions later Sunday. The first official injury report of the week doesn’t arrive until Monday, with final playing status designations coming on Wednesday.
