The Green Bay Packers made a roster move ahead of Tuesday’s practice. The team signed fullback Henry Pearson, who was waived earlier in training camp, and waived running back Jarveon Howard.
Howard, a rookie, was dealing with an ankle injury and was waived with an injury designation.
The Packers are without tight end Tyler Davis, who has a new shoulder injury. It’s possible the injury necessitated bringing back Pearson, who can play the fullback/tight end/H-back role.
Pearson went undrafted out of Appalachian State in 2023. He signed with the Packers and spent the entire 2023 season on the team’s practice squad. The Packers elevated him from the practice squad for games against the Detroit Lions (13 snaps played) and Kansas City Chiefs (21 snaps played).
Pearson is returning to the No. 44 uniform.
Howard, an undrafted free agent out of Alcorn State this year, signed on April 30. He rushed eight times for 44 yards before injuring his ankle in the preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns.
