The Green Bay Packers are getting back quarterback Jordan Love for Sunday’s NFC North showdown with the Minnesota Vikings. According to reports from both Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Packers are expecting Love to be active and play Sunday against the Vikings.
Love injured the MCL in his left knee against the Philadelphia Eagles in the season opener on Friday, Sept. 6. He missed games against the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, both wins with backup Malik Willis under center.
The Packers are now 2-1 and entering a key early season showdown against the unbeaten Vikings at Lambeau Field.
In his first game back, Love will face a surging Vikings defense coordinated by veteran coach Brian Flores. Minnesota ranks second in points allowed and first in sacks through three weeks. Neither Brock Purdy nor C.J. Stroud could consistently unlock the Vikings defense over the last two weeks.
Love completed 17 of 34 passes for 260 yards, two touchdowns and an interception during the Packers’ 34-29 loss to the Eagles in Brazil. He was injured on the third-to-last play from scrimmage while attempting to evade a sack.
Willis, who was acquired via trade on Aug. 27, posted passer ratings over 120.0 in wins over the Colts and Titans.
The Packers listed Love as questionable to play against the Vikings. He practiced in a limited capacity all three days during each of the last two weeks.
