Packers QB Aaron Rodgers makes another clutch putt to win ‘The Match’

A year after walking in a birdie putt to beat Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson in “The Match,” Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers unleashed a Tiger Woods-quality fist pump as he watched another Match-sealing birdie putt find the bottom of the cup on Wednesday night at Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas.

Rodgers sunk a 15-footer for birdie on No. 12 to beat Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen in this year’s event.

“I felt really good about it. Tommy gave me a great read. I felt good about the line and I knew it was going in,” Rodgers said afterward.

Rodgers and Brady won each of the first two holes but eventually trailed Mahomes and Allen by one going into the final three holes. Rodgers got hot late, hitting big shot after big shot to end it, including a terrific tee shot on the Par 3 12th that set up his match-winning putt.

Rodgers is now 2-0 in “The Match” with two match winners.
