Packers PFF grades: Best, worst players from win over Dolphins in Week 13

The Green Bay Packers continued building momentum on Thanksgiving Night, beating the Miami Dolphins 30-17 and producing the team’s highest overall grade at Pro Football Focus of the 2024 season.

In fact, the Packers have played their two best games by PFF grade over the last two weeks. Matt LaFleur’s team is 9-3 and starting to play their best football as December nears.

Based on grades from Pro Football Focus, here are the best and worst players from the Packers’ Week 13 win over the Dolphins:

Top 5 offense

1. TE Tucker Kraft: 89.7
2. RB Josh Jacobs: 86.4
3. QB Jordan Love: 77.7
4. RB Chris Brooks: 77.3
5. WR Jayden Reed: 72.1

Kraft caught six passes for 78 yards, gained 61 yards after the catch and averaged 3.55 yards per route run. Jacobs forced 15 missed tackles — eight as a runner, seven as a receiver — and produced over 100 total yards. Love had an adjusted completion percentage of 88.5 and didn’t have a turnover worthy play. Brooks gained 28 yards on three rushing attempts, caught two passes and was excellent as a pass-blocker. Reed caught two touchdown passes and forced three missed tackles on a 23-yard run.

Top 5 defense

1. S Xavier McKinney: 78.0
2. DE Arron Mosby: 73.9
3. CB Keisean Nixon: 73.5
4. DL Kenny Clark: 70.7
5. CB Eric Stokes: 69.7

McKinney made eight tackles without a miss and was solid in coverage. Mosby had a tackle for loss against a jet sweep. Nixon had seven tackles without a miss and a pass breakup on third down. Clark produced two pressures, including his first sack of the season. Stokes missed a tackle but gave up only two catches for seven yards into his coverage.

Bottom 5 offense

1. LG Elgton Jenkins: 31.4
2. TE Ben Sims: 37.4
3. LT Rasheed Walker: 60.2
4. C Josh Myers: 60.3
5. RG Sean Rhyan: 60.6

Jenkins gave up a pressure, earned a season-low run-blocking grade and was penalized 15 yards for unnecessary roughness. Sims struggled as a run blocker. Walker gave up two hurries in pass protection and had a false start. Myers was charged with giving up three pressures, including a quarterback hit. Rhyan didn’t give up a pressure but earned a low run-blocking grade.

Bottom 5 defense

1. LB Eric Wilson: 43.8
2. S Evan Williams: 47.6
3. CB Javon Bullard: 53.5
4. DL Colby Wooden: 54.8
5. DE Rashan Gary: 58.7

Wilson and Williams both missed two tackles. Bullard gave up two catches and earned average grades against the run and in coverage. Wooden didn’t have a pressure over 10 pass-rushing snaps. Gary had four pressures and two stops but had too many empty snaps across 43 snaps.

Special teams

Zayne Anderson produced two tackles and earned the team’s top special teams grade. Javon Bullard and Arron Mosby also had tackles. Mosby and Eric Wolson missed tackles. TJ Slaton was flagged for encroachment on a field goal, and Daniel Whelan was charged with a delay of game before a punt. Brandon McManus made all six of his kicks (three field goals, three extra points), Whelan had three punts inside the 20 and Keisean Nixon had a 43-yard kickoff return, a season long.

Quarterback play

Jordan Love: 77.7

Love completed 15 of 18 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown from clean pockets and threw a touchdown pass without a turnover worthy play under pressure. The Packers dropped two passes, so Love’s adjusted completion percentage was 88.5. He completed only two passes thrown over 10 yards in the air (2-for-5) but excellent in the short areas (14-for-15, 170 yards). His average time to throw was 2.49 seconds, and he was under pressure on 10 of 28 dropbacks.

Stat to know

In the cold, on a short week and facing one of the NFL’s worst tackling teams, the Packers forced 23 missed tackles. Josh Jacobs forced 15 on his own. Jayden Reed forced three on one run. Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks combined to forced three misses. Dontayvion Wicks forced two misses and Tucker Kraft forced one. The Packers playmakers consistently gain extra yards with the ball in their hands.
