Packers officially add K Brayden Narveson, sign two others to practice squad

The Green Bay Packers officially announced the addition of kicker Brayden Narveson as a waiver claim and the signing of two players to the team’s practice squad on Thursday.

Narveson was claimed off waivers from the Tennessee Titans. He passed a physical with the Packers and is now on the 53-man roster as the team’s lone kicker. A rookie out of North Carolina State, Narveson made 6-of-7 field goals and both extra points for the Titans in the preseason.

Narveson will wear No. 44, his number in college.

The Packers also signed safety Omar Brown and linebacker Chris Russell Jr. to the practice squad, bringing the total members of the practice squad to 15 of 17.

Brown, an undrafted rookie out of Nebraska, spent training camp with the Denver Broncos. He was a top 30 visitor for the Packers before the 2024 draft. Brown played 52 snaps over three preseason games with the Broncos.

Russell, a collegiate teammate of Edgerrin Cooper at Texas A&M, was a tryout player for the Packers in May and later signed to the roster in August. He played 31 snaps for the Packers over two preseason games and was the defense’s second-highest graded player at Pro Football Focus. He made six tackles without a miss and graded out well against the run and in coverage.
